Hi,
You know what? Sometimes it pays to just goof off together. Have a parent (or 2 or 3!) have pizza's delivered during practice. Not so many that you get slogged down but enough so that everyone gets to take a breath and interact. Have popsicles delivered, do the stuff you used to do when you were little and personalities didn't get in the way. (except for Janey who ate bugs, dontch know!:everybody had a "Janey" on their team!) If you can, have a movie night at someones house and rent some "friendship-y" movies/coach is great/motivational movies etc. and then last.....ask the girls for their input..what kind of drill might seem like more fun than the usual boring drills...If everyone has a voice, everyone feels importand and thus. happy. Play around on this site, there is a ton of stuff here and some great advice too! One drill I used for my girls (little girls ) was "Teddy-bash"
I would set a large stuffed bear on a couple of milk crates, on various bases and have the girls throw the ball to knock him off. He then became the much battered and beloved mascot of our team. As they got more proficient at knocking Teddy off, Teddy got smaller "cousins" to take his place. You could set up 3 bears at the 3 bases and do a time and accuracy from HP. Who everknocks all three off in the fastest time doesnt have to run laps. Good luck and good for you that you can see a need to motivate. That's Captain credentials!
