  1. I'm horrible with names. What I do is write each kids name under the brim of their cap, at that age they think it's funny when you tilt their hat up to read the name while you're talking to them. Lots of one on one conversations with each kid will get you knowing their names in no time, now if I could only get the parents to wear hats I'll be good.
  2. Why risk it? At that level a change is just as good as a curve, and no risk.
  3. Hello all! I'm not sure if it's customary to do an introduction thread but I figured it was good maners. My name is josh and I'm a 32 year old first year coach with a 7 year old in coach pitch. I placed one little phone call to the manager telling him I'd like to help out and wham, I got a new hat. Anyway my experience with the kids has been so great I can't imagine not sticking with it, this is some of the best quality time I could imagine with my boy, and the other kids are great too. I'm fairly knowledgable about the game, but I've tons to learn about teaching it, that's where you guys come in. Great topics and information from what I've read so far, thanks for the opportunity to exchange information, and see you all around.
  4. Man, am I happy to have found this site! I was always taught to keep my throwing hand behind my back or leg with no men on base, and in the case of a steal threat a closed fist behind the glove.
