  1. Coaches, On defense I have only one defensive signal and that is for the base defense alone for an 8-9 year old team. So far I've just been calling out the blitzes (example - "Razor Right" - RILB Blitz). I realize I cant keep shouting this from the sideline because I'm televising it. My question is, at this level, is it too much info to have a bunch of defensive signals? If not, what is a good method to follow? Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
  2. Nice clips coach!! I've actually ordered your WT6 DVD's! Nice to see you on here!
  3. Thanks a lot coach! Way to be innovative! Hopefully I'll start thinkin' like that someday...lol. We used cones this week, and had a few more players sign up to bring our total to 19 so we can sleep easier..lol. This is my first year coaching so I'm learning as I go. Thanks again!
  4. Good morning coaches! I am an assistant coach for a 65-70 lb team (8-9 year olds) in Maryland. This will be my first year coaching the defense. I had a question and was hoping someone can help me regarding teaching a defensive alignment (WT6). What is a good drill to use to teach that? We have one of those OL mats that you roll out with lables for the T, G, C, and TE, should I use that? Only problem is, the Gaps are already labled with numbers to represent offensive gaps and I don't know if that will be too confusing. We only have 16 kids for now, so should we use cones to represent the OL? Just trying to figure out the most efficient way to teach and introduce our base alignment and responsibilities. Thanks in advance!
