It would totally depend on your personnel. If you have a kid who has a good, consistent long snap, and QB with good footwork and awareness, and 2 receivers who can catch short outs and slants, I do not see why not. Trying without those pieces would be a bad idea.

What age group are you coaching?

[5-4 Or 6-3 Defense]

I am coaching a 7-8 year old team this year, and the league mandates a 5-4 or 6-3 defense outside of the red zone. My thought is to run a 5-4 and play my studs in the LB position, and my speed as corners. I am assuming there will be very few passing plays, and almost none over 10 yards at this level. Does anyone have any feedback or experience with these defense or age group that might want to throw around some ideas?
