Guest Ginge Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Anyone have any drills for the performance of the Dig, volley and spike? Information on the correct position for receiving the ball and the actual performance of the player in each situation would be helpful.
Guest Colleen Modde Report post Posted January 15, 2003 AnyoneI'm trying to describe how to play a 6-1. You know with the setter, setting in very postion. Guest Junue Report post Posted January 15, 2003 There is such a thing as a 6-1, however I know there are many different positions that the team can take it's just up to you in determining where you want ur players. The "W" rotation always seems best to me, where you have 3 front row hitters, when possible and 2 passers. However, when the setter is front row, you can only have 2 hitters which can be a disadvantage unless ur passers are capable of hitting successfuly from the 10 foot line. Hope this is helpful
Guest Ryan Bodnar Report post Posted January 15, 2003 I could be mistaken but first of I don't think there is such thing as 6-1. In this case, "6" would be the number of hitters and "1" would be the number of setter. If there is only one setter, then it is only possible to have five hitter since when the setter is in the front row, there will only be two hitter and when the setter is in the back row there will be three. If there was 2 setters, then the setter would always be in the back row therefore having three hitters in the front at all times. So from my knowledge, you can either play a 6-2 or a 5-1. Hope that helps!
Guest Theresa Report post Posted January 15, 2003 I need some fun games to play. Kind of lighten up the practice. Any ideas?
Guest Kelly Zabielski Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Butterfly Drill - 3 backrow players on each side, a setter, outside hitter (target). Server on opposite side. Server serves to a passer on other side. Person who passes goes to setter position (if there is a permanent setter, skip to target) and server goes to passers position. Target goes to server.
