April in VA 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I am a new coach, have been playing volleyball since I was a kid. I decided to run a 6-2 to spread the load around the court with my high school team. I have two setter, with one back up. The 6-2 that I am running is plain and simple with few if any switches in the front. I have 2 great middle hitters and several options on outside hitters. My questions are regarding coverage. I have the jest down, but keep seeing a big hole in the middle of the court. Does anyone have any drills or printable guides on how I should place my players for coverage? This post may or may not make much sense, this is my first time posting in a volleyball forum. John 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 April,Although ultimately you want the setter in the back row doing the setting so that you have three front row hitters, the key to being successul is that the back row setter plays defense first. i.e. if the other team attacks, the back row setter might need to dig. If the back row setter has to dig then he/she will pass to the front row setter, who can then set the outside or middle hitter. John
