lukeMajorCS 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2009 I'm helping some coaches on a t-ball team (5-6 year olds) and we are having problems with kids in the infield not tracking the ball and getting hit by throws in the outfield or from others in the infield. Actually, there are probably 2 problems: (1) kids throwing balls when the target kid isn't ready and (2) target kids not being ready. Anyone have any drills to help train kids to watch the ball in the field?
hollad6636 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 Coach,Obviously this is a tough age group with attention spans being so short. My recommendation would be to put a kid in left and center field and a few kids at short and 2nd base. Hit the ball into the outfield and have your shortstop and second baseman work the cutoff and work getting the ball into 2nd base over and over. Working situations over and over is the only way they are going to learn. You can checkout our baseball drills database for more ideas.Good luck,Schann
