Coordination /balance Exercise For Youth Wrestling

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Not sure what you mean by 'feedback'. Are you asking for suggestions?

How young are the wrestlers we are talking about?

A couple of my favorite exercises to promote balance and body control are variations of tug-of-war. You can use implements (such as a rope) or nothing at all (just have the kids join at the hands and try to 'tug' each other).

The variations can be manipulated to make the game harder or easier. For example -

1. One-legged tug-of-war

2. Eyes closed tug-of-war

3. Single-leg tug-of-war (in this version, a rope is tied around the ankle of each player, and they use their leg to try and tug each other off balance).

Use your imaginataion and I'm sure you could come up with several more.

Hope this helped!

Thanks Brian.

Feedback or suggestions. I'm looking for exercises that youth wrestlers 9 and under can do to develop body awareness and or body control. Balance exercise in tandem with eachother or individually. (or anything you can suggest).

I like the tug of war standing on one foot though.

Thank you for your advice.
