First off, I have never played organized volleyball. I have gone out and gotten away with some athletic ability but that is not what I am dealing with. I am starting in the womb with my team. I am the only coach for 12 girls aged 8-9. I do get an assistant next week thank God. Is there any advice you can give someone who is having serious doubts whether his team will not lose at an unbelieveable fashion?

5-3Man,

It doesn't matter what you know now. Just like we expect our athletes to put the time and effort in to getting better. You just need to put the time and effort in to becoming a knowledgeable volleyball coach. You will need a game plan for the drills and alignments that you want to teach. In addition to purchasing instructional volleyball dvd's, there is a lot of free stuff out there to help you put together a game plan.

Here are some links to get you started.
