Need Suggestions

As the season comes to an end, I was wondering if any Coaches have an end of the season speech, special event or gift, they give to their players. I would like replies on what other coaches do for their team. Thanks vball 123

I have two suggestions. The first one is one I picked up here two years ago. We have always let the girls play their choice of music during personal warm up time and some of some it is really super (and I'm over 60). Anyway, I've made a composit cd of most of the tunes the girls really like, and we give each of the members of the team a copy. By adding a sound clip at the first of the cd saying these are the songs from ------(whatever year), it really becomes something that (they say) they will keep for a long time. Of course that requires that you used music somewhere during your practice.

The other "award" I give is exactly that, an award letter. My school doesn't do anything along that line and I have always remembered (and kept) my first school letter. If you get small ones in one solid color with one background color, they are fairly cheap.

I'm not very good at speeches, so I'll leave that one to someone else.

We player for a Christian school and we gave our girls the volleyball crosses that are available here and they loved them.

As far as the speech, I keep it simple say something brief about each girl and each coach and this year I took some photographs that I had taken throughout the year and made a photo story of the year with some music.

The girls loved this, but I think the parents liked it even more.

Thanks for the great suggestion. Too late for this year, but I will definately consider taking pictures next year for distribution to the team.

I checked out the sports crosses and order a couple. My daughter just loves them. I will be talking with the team and we will probably be buying one for all of our girls.
