Pineapple 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 I am a college physical education/coaching student. I am currently in a class that I need to come up with games from the internet to help with practice. Our first sport is Volleyball, (my sport ). If anyone can point me in the direction to a good website for games, that would be wonderful. ThanksPineapple:)
suezq 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2005 I can give you a couple of sites for volleyball drills but you'll have to be creative and make them into a game. Competitive games work the best for these drills. Check out these sites for a couple of ideas: emporia.edu/vball/drills/index.html and volleyball.comMy varsity team loves "dead fish" which is a serving game. They also like what we call "queen of the court" which is a drill played within the 10 foot lines with 3 players on each side. B/c the boundaries are smaller they have to work on controlled net play. the side that wins the volley stays on the court and the side that lost moves off for the next group of 3.hope this helps! Connie 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 Queen of the court is a great game! All of the teams that I coach love it. We also play Dead Fish ( 4 players lay on the floor and are the targets for the servers to hit. When a server hits a "dead fish" they become a dead fish and the fish they hit goes to serve.) We also do a serving game where you divide the players into even teams and have them serve around the positions of the court. One player stands in position 1 and his teammates are on the other side of th net serving at him/her. The target much catch the ball and must keep one foot planted in the same position (not moving around to get balls at all). Once the target catches a ball the player that serves the ball goes to the next position (2) and the team keeps aiming. The first team to get the ball to all six position wins. This keeps a good number of players busy as you have a team on each side of the net.
Bert 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 Or ´dog pile´. The kids laying over each other on the floor, like a ´dog pile´. On the other side of the net, there stand the coach with a ball. He serve with a underhand serve. When he do so, the kids must stand up, the first kid must play the ball with a forearme pass, the second must give a set up and kid 3 or 4 or maybe 5 must spike. This is a great game, where the kids must work together and play volleyball at the same time.Bert
