Ribman 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 What exactly is it and how does it differ from a jump stop?- my understanding is a stride stop is more just moving to the ball as it comes to you while a jump stop is more pronounced- I've seen it referred to recently but with no explanation of the differences. Coach7 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2005 My 2 cents...The jump stop- you can actually hop out of a jump stop, but if you end in a "stride-step," you must get rid of the ball before you land if you jump off the 2nd foot that lands (can't hop). Also- With the "stride-step" the 2nd foot to land becomes the pivot foot, but of course the player can choose either foot out of the jump stop.
