size four is recommended for growth and developing skills and plus your child is still small, they should use a ball more appropriately adjusted to their size and as they grow they move into a size 5

its expensive like they say for the uniforms and refs and insurance and such... also your own equiptment expenses and the league isnt making any money off you if thats what you are afraid of. i myself play for a travelling leage and pay alot more than the nominal fees for fields and such that youth leagues pay... my team has to pay a trainer to come out, the coach, rent hotel rooms at tournaments, and pay to enter tournaments as well... so when i look at the fees charged by the league to help cover their costs i laugh because its going to a good cause and is letting kids have fun in a safe environment doing something they enjoy.

i feel that way too... if you start sumthing its important to finish it and as long as you are trying your best to make the child feel welcome then theres nothing else you can do.

i agree with connie, i think that if your son were to play with some close friends he has in a closed environment with you and them in the backyard or a small park then maybe ###### get a feel for playing with other youths

well its hard to coach family members as ive learned but, you cant be "diplomatic" once you reach a certain age group. sometimes the weaker players need to get the amount of time they are legally allowed to and thats all... its not about favorites and as hard as it may seem or unkind, if there is a better player on the bench they should be playing. during regular season i had an autistic player and another with a learning disability that made it frustrating and hard to keep them on the field. at first their parents were complaining that their children didnt play enough but, i gave them half or a little less of the game switched between their position and their parents understood that that was all their children could HANDLE on the field... and you need to realize that putting a player in midfield just because shes your daughter and you dont want to raise any eyebrows at her playing more and stuf. its hard but she deserves that position and showed it in your last game... gratz on the goal too sounds like you have a real player

try going to the cysa website i think its www.cysa.org but not sure search it on google. they hsould have helpful links or people you can talk to. you need to make sure your areas population has a certain amount so that you can effectively set up a league with enough diversity amongst the teams, otherwise you would have to make an intercity district which would be much harder to start

well it depends on the kids ages. my under 12s just have cones in the goal and they have to shoot for the center when we started the drill and a week weeks and about 6 practices in we started shooting for the outsides to teach them low and outside shooting skills which will beat goalies. they shoot from between the 18 and the pk spot and they dribble in about 15 yards before the shot to set up each foot and get eqwual practice.
