  2. Well just if u want a drill, You could put two of the corner flags in the goal about a foot and a half in from the posts on the goal line, set a ball on the ground resting against the goal post on the touch line, and hang two bibs/shirts/jackets in the upper corners. For the forwards of the team, knock them a ball to feet to take a simple turn and a shot, or a threw ball to run onto and have a strke. For the rest of the team have them pass into a checking player who lays it off preferably back to the sides of the player as aposed to a square ball, or knock it in to them from the sides, give them a touch and a shot. Make it a competition. A goal scored between the flags are no points, between the post and the flag is a point, hitting the balls or the bibs is two. Any shot over the goal is minus a point.
  3. For me coaching the young ones, when they start to goof around in a finishing drill, i simply step in line and take a turn, when they see you crush a ball harder then they've ever seen, they seem to shut up and respect wut your saying. But if your old or havent played in awhile u may want to just run them. Push the whole team mentality and if one person starts to mess around, send the whole team for a lap or a couple sprints. You said ur son was on the team, Probably for the first slip up to send the kids for a run, us him as the blame taker, but dont continue using just him, cuz that will hurt him, but show the kids that even he will be punished for a lack of respect.
  4. You could do the three man drill as stated before, or for the younger team who may need the extra focus on their touch just send one player at a time, have balls sent into him/her from all angles (easily done by sending the rest of the team around the feild on the touch lines) and one by one have them knock balls into the boy or girl whos doing the drill. Dont have the whole team knock in the same kind of ball, maybe have one roll a ball in on the ground, have the next hit a bouncing ball, the next hit a chest high ball. Have two "goals"(two cones about 5 yards apart) set up with one cone on either touch line, so this forces the child to hit the ball to the wings. Have the Child start on at the penalty spot of his/her own goal, to show them the proper feild position when a clearance ball is appropriate. Reward well cleared balls (how ever you want, make it a compitition, or give them points, or offer less running or something) and put an emphasis on one touch clearances. You may as they progress toward the end of the year throw in a passive (just there to pretty much distract the defender, not to tackle the clearance) forward. Good Luck.
