  1. I am glad to hear that people are focusing on developing strength early on in youth sports. This is a much better focus than trying to teach a child how to throw a curveball.
  2. Thank you for the reponse, thats great that it is open for all. I sent an email through your website about promoting your players and teams through SportsBunch.com Let me know if it was recieved or not.
  3. If you would like an honest answer... it doesnt matter. I hope I do not come across as rude. I am just very to the point. I would buy the best "deal" save money. Spend the time that you are using looking for a bat and look for drills to improve stamina, endurance, strength, etiquette, things of this nature. Your child will benefit much more and have a better appreciation for the game.
  4. Here is a new one that is free! http://SportsBunch.com it has a ton of options and I can personally assit you if you have any questions. let me know what your needs are. email me at sportsbunch@yahoo.com (andy)
  5. it depends on what you mean by fundamentals. I would work on fastball, and changeup only. The most important thing for youth is to keep in mind long term strength. Work on speed, strength, stamina, endurance, accuracy. Types are really not that important if these things are not optimal. here is a comment i posted to another user: "Play catch. Everyday and several times a day. Throwing the ball at a controlled speed (not overthrowing) constantly will improve endurance, speed, and accuracy. It sounds simple and it is. The change takes longer but you will have long lasting results. A strong well developed arm that can last longer, recover faster after pitching and injuries, and throw more pitches with better accuracy. Do this at differnent lengths. Long toss, short toss, under hand, try mixing it up to make it fun by flipping the ball back and forth like SS and 2nd base double play drills. The long toss is ideal for strength but has other benefits the short toss is good for edurance and has other benefits the trick passes/throws is good for accuracy and keeps it fun and again has other benefits."
  6. IS he throwing the bat on purpose because he is angry or because it is slipping out of his hands?
  7. NO! Do not do this! If you want to increase your son's arm strength and stamina I have a perfect drill for you. Play catch. Everyday and several times a day. 8. Thanks for the link, new drills are always helpful!
  9. Think of it this way. They want to have fun and become better ball players. What type of drills did you enjoy the most when you played? Use those, explore new ones (try them out yourself first) see which ones the team responds to the most and use those! Keep changing things up and improving yourself. You wont get everything perfect the first time. Let me know if you have any other questions. http://SportsBunch.com
  10. of course it is! he cant play under you forever. different situations and different people will help expand his skills and abilities. think about it like this. if he only saw fastball's his entire life, then how good will he be at hitting a changeup? or a curve ball? probably will not hit as well as he should. so if he is only used to your coaching how well will he respond to other coaches players? I think players that play for their dad is not good at all. I never played for my father and I am glad! I left bad for the kids that had to play for their dad. every one of them compained! Let him enjoy the game and help him out where its needed most! http://SportsBunch.com
  11. Can any Player or team register for these games? http://SportsBunch.com
