  1. Yeah its me again... So as title states,IFAF says pants and flags cannot match, but does not speak to jersey colors. Given spins, jumping for passes, and windy weather sometimes flags do lift up quite a bit. If a team wears flags and jerseys same color should it be allowed?
  2. I first will say thanks to the members that have helped so far, if there is somewhere else online I should go for IFAF rule clarifications I will be happy to go there. Until then I will probably be here quite a bit. First question. A runner has the ball and has gained yardage he flag guards and the defender holds him. IFAF rule says If live ball fouls by both teams are reported to the referee, the fouls offset and the down is replayed. Exceptions: 1. When there is a change of team possession during a down, and the team last gaining possession had not fouled before last gaining possession, it may decline offsetting fouls and thereby retain possession after completion of the penalty for its foul. 2. When a live ball foul is administered as a dead ball foul, it does not offset and is enforced in order of occurrence. In the above case is it offset and replay the down or does the ball stay at the spot of fouls and play the next down.I'm not really getting the 2nd exception. Second issue we had a runner that had gained yardage and a whistle was blown by a fan. All the refs heard it and were distracted the play continued and the flag was pulled after more yardage was gained. Offense argued that since play continued and the defense keep moving the play should stand. However on a accidental whistle by the ref the team gets a choice of spot of the whistle or replay the down. I don't see how the play can be allowed to go after a loud clear whistle regardless of who blew it. Thanks again for anyone that can help
  3. Thank you much Sir, that is how I read it but not being an expert I like to confirm.
  4. I hope I am in the right section and as newbie this maybe a dumb question but please bear with me. Under IFAF if you are in the no run zone and the ball ends up, by penalty or play for a loss, out of the no run zone, does the no run rule still apply. I have refs and coaching arguing that once you are the in the zone you can't" get the advantage of running" by penalty. I see nothing that says this. I see it as in the zone or out, however you get there. Thank you again for any info that you have?
  5. Sorry should have said we use IFAF rules which say the forward pass must break the LOS. Some people are saying any forward pass counts but hat is not how I read the IFAF.
  6. Had a play today and am hoping for some help please. In the no run zone, if a receiver lines up on the line of scrimmage and at the snap does not more forward, is it legal for him to receive a pass and run forward? I understand a pass behind the line of scrimmage is considered a running play but the coach is arguing on the line is not behind the line.
  7. Thanks for the input, due to geographic issues the teams cannot be reformed, so it is what it is. We decided to have the league award 1st place medals only and then each team give something for showing up to each kid, and each team gives out MVP and such for their team. So its not everyone gets a medal, but everyone who plays the season gets something, and even if you aren't on the winning team you can get extra awards for your effort.
  8. I am a coach/ref/commissioner for a league, so yeah we are kinda overworked. Anyway last year we only had 3 team so everyone got a medal. This year we have 4 teams, a disagreement has arose as to how we award. Do we leave one team out in the cold with ribbons or such for 4th, do we give 4th place medals, or do we give only gold and silver medals? Everyone seems to have a different take on what is fair and I'm grateful for any outside opinions.
  9. I'm not sure what rulebook you are using but IFAF says the line may be broken on a fake handoff.
