  1. I've coached Baseball for 5yrs now and this is the first time at football. I played all the way through HS and understandthe game but I'm not sure how to go about teaching it to kids...it's not the same as baseball so any help is appreciated..
  2. The funny thing is that I'm pretty laid back and don't get on them hardly at all...so they aren't picking anything up from me...half of them don't even kow if we've won or lost...my 2-3 best players are hurting us...they'll make 3 great plays and then lose it and overthrow or throw to the wrong person...just don't listen to us...it's getting a little frustrating...we've lost 4 games by 1 point!
  3. I'm coaching 7/8 coach pitch baseball. We didn't exactly get the cream of the crop but we've got a good team...we've lost the last 4 games by 1 point...The problem is that there's one inning were they completely lose it and start overthrowing each other and making boneheaded plays...I've addressed it but it keeps happening..any ideas..
  4. Thanks for the feed ba.ck i was just nervous about pitching to kids...never done it...besides my own The league had used machines up until this year and I couldn't think of that many ways other than just doing it and backing up as I went Plus it's so hard pitching to those shorter kids...I struck the same 3 kids out in a t'ment this weekend twice...and I was trying so hard to get it to them

I don't agree with the running part of it because it will take the fun out of it for the boys, and if they are a decent ball player they may never play again....i coach my son and he's 6 on a 7/8 team (because of b'day) and he's more immature...but he knew in tball that he didn't have to try to be one of the better players and it drove me crazy. Now he's getting discouraged and acting up...I've made him sit the bench once already...and it made him step up a little...it's the age...build him up and give him more confidence. The better he feels about himself the more he's going to try...at least in my son's case..he needs confidence
  6. Hi new here and have a question about coach pitch..I haven't coached this age group before and this is our 1st year with coach pitch (had used machine)...and I'm curious how to get started...obviously I'll find out who are my strongest defenders but what about the coach pitch...any suggestions on how to go about doing drills?
