First and foremost, I am not a "win-at-all" costs coach. We are going in to our second game tomorrow.

Know that we have three practices per week, and we have had 11 practices since the season started. We slaughtered our first opponent (and I thought we would lose), but just don't feel we are prepared yet.

I will get into coaching philosophy later, but in a nutshell, I don't think we have prepped as well as we should. I am a "player's coach" and refuse to be a tirant on the practice field. This means that I have to balance my complex scheme with allowing 6-8 year olds be, well 6-8 year olds. For the most part we have picked things up, but I just don't think we are as crisp as we need to be.

If I wanted to win the game, I would hand it off to my RB each play, but as always will ensure all players have a touch. I am only calling plays that graded out as an "A" in practice, and the players know this. Thus we will try to win with a limited number of plays that I feel the team executes to near perfection. I refuse to just allow them to just "wing it".

We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I am wanting my cake and eat it. I want the kids to have fun, and to win. However, the former is my top priority.

Wish me luck. ;-)
