I am helping coach a team of 7 5th and 6th grade girls. Only one of these girls has played basketball before. I think I need to focus on passing and dribbling. Can anyone suggest either some drills or other suggestions to help me get these girls going.

Thanks in advance.

Fundamentals are always important. If you can't dribble, pass or play defense. There is not much use in working on other things. I would focus on defense up front as this will at least help keep you in games. The scoring might not always be there but a team can always play good defense.

Check out our coaching drills database for some great drills on dribbling, passing, rebounding and defense.
