My sister and I have volunteered to coach my 8-year-old niece's first basketball team. They are in 2nd grade and we are having a practice league this year. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the girls interested in a sport they've never played before? Any advice or suggestions would be VERY helpful...

The girls are interested or they wouldn't have signed up to play. So all you have to do is come prepared with drills and make it fun. Don't let the girls stand around, break them up into small groups and keep things moving. Check out our drills database for some fun drills to
help teach the girls the fundamentals.
