A Girl Coaching The Boys?

Hello all! I am a 30 year old woman who will be coaching U-10 boys this season! I am a little apprehensive about not only being a new coach but being a female coaching the boys. I feel confident that the boys will be OK with me, but what about the parents? Especially the dads? Any suggestions for new coaches ? Thanks

I am a male coach and I for one would not have any problem's at all with a female coaching my son's as long as you are prepared for each practice. Most parents are just looking for a coach who run's an organized practice and teaches their kids in a positive manner. So just show up prepared to keep the kids moving, know what you want to accomplish for each practice session and communicate with the parents and I think you will do fine.

I have a son that played a few sports. The main thing I look for in a coach is knowledge. If you are ready for practice, can teach skills and keep the players engaged in practice you will be fine. I think that parents want their kids to learn and have fun - if you can accomplish that it will be good.
