New Qb
17 October 2006 - 06:54 AM
I coach peewee football in sweden at the age of 9-13 and my current team is filled with 13year olds and therefore they are getting to old, Ive started to train a new QB with my only 9year old on the team and next year he will lead a bunch of rookies most of whom are his friends from school. I myself have never played skill and I got my last QB (who was my first) from an older coach, so my job has been easy. Now I have to teach this new kid, Kevin how to move like a QB how to act like a QB he has got a strong arm for a 9year old he has made throws up to 25-30 yards but hes short and has a problem looking downfield, I could need some help on how to teach him to move his eyes and get a good look at his passing options, ive started to teach him how to make his dropback and how to do a rollout he knows how and he does it good but he still needs to learn to read the defence better and to find his recivers quick. We play in a leauge where there are no blitz and the only one who are allowed to tutch the QB behind the LOS are D-linemen and he out runs most of the older kids already.
Swedish Beginner Coach Needs Help
17 August 2006 - 03:55 PM
Hi as you probably noticed in the title im a football coach from sweden, I have coached a team for about a year now and our season have been going great, the problem is that all of my players are getting to old for peewee football and since I came in as head coach by their last year I dont know anything about building a team and how to distribute the nessesary basics of the game for them to play. And because I will have a completely new group of kids this means I have to make a new playbook because the old one was made for older kids that both are stronger and faster. So im asking for Webpages, books, tips, drills, and for my playbooks making prehaps formations, the swedish peewee rules are a bit diffrent from the regular ones you play with 9players 3 linemen is minimum but you can have as many players on the los as you like, you have to have 5 men on the los before the snap and no reciver can get locked (dont know if you call it locked but I use the word for lack of better) , no cut-blocks (no blocks under the wasit at any time except on the ballcarrier)
