I've been a youth football coach for ten years now. In that time, I've been a position coach, OC, DC, and head coach. At various times, I have coached wing t, straight t, single wing, and double wing offenses; most recently, double wing. I'm a fan of any offense that combines power, speed, and deception.

Defensively, I gravitate towards aggressive, in-your-face schemes. I like the inverted 6-2, the 4-4 stack, and the 46 gambler. All of these defenses put a great deal of pressure on the offensive backfield and force the offense to make decisions quickly and accurately.

I love coaching kids, and I take seriously the impact that we, as coaches, have on their lives. I believe that the best of human characteristics (discipline, teamwork, personal responsibility, fairness, self sacrifice, etc.) can be developed and reinforced through participation in sports. Part of my responsibility to the kids is to be the best coach I can be. To that end, I am constantly looking for new information or insight about the game of football and how best to teach the skills the game requires. I like to prowl coaching boards like this one gathering and sharing information about this beautiful game.
