Very good article on youth sports. My son is playing lacrosse now but this article applies to all sports.

About Me
I grew up playing all sports although my parents did not involve me in organized sports for the most part. That was a function of their background, location, available funds and other things. But I played some kind of sport with the neighborhood kids almost every day. One of our favorites was football, both tackle and tag. In college (UF) I played flag football on several teams and even coached a woman's team. Beyond college I got heavily involved with volleyball and personal fitness. Now I coach my son's flag football team and have been doing so for about 4 years. I have also coached soccer, baseball and basketball for both my son and daughter.
A while ago Coach Rob and I started an exchange that for the most part launched this forum as a great resource for flag football. I enjoy helping others and also learning from them. Feel free to ask me a question in the forums or privately.

Aau Flag Football Tournament
12 May 2011 - 11:56 AM
I got this email the other day about an AAU flag football tournament in Orlando. Even though I haven't had a team in over a year I'm toying with the idea of piecing together some top players and having a go at it. We'd play in the 12U category.
