At this age group, I'd stick with fundamental offensive concepts instead of plays.

Some offensive concepts that come to mind are:
  • Pick & Roll
  • Give & Go
  • Pass & Basket Cut
  • Pass & Screen Away
Having said that, I think the most important skill you can teach them is attack the basket in transition and to learn how to finish the lay-ups while being chased.  Second most important skill to teach is to rebound and stick it back in.  I'll bet those two methods will account for the vast majority of points you'll score for the season.

One or two inbound plays ought to round out the teaching - and these are the only "set plays" I'd advocate.

It's far better to teach the kids how to play instead of teaching kids to run the play.

Repeat the following mantra a thousand times to yourself each and every day you are going to be with this very special age group:  Fun! Fun! Fun! Praise! Praise! Praise! Positive! Positive! Positive!

This is a very fun age group with most kids in desperate need of skills.  Make the experience fun and very much hands on for the kids.  This is not an age group for 15 minute detailed explanations or sophisticated offensive schemes.  Spend the valuable gym time on individual fundamentals like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense.  And keep it all upbeat and fun, for example dribbling relay races or passing races, etc.  Keep the kids moving around and involved - avoid those boring drills where a kid stands in a long line waiting for their turn.

Almost every single point will come from a broken play or a stickback after the 50th rebound attempt so forgo the systems based offenses, and teach the kids to play the smaller games of 1v1, 2v2, etc.

Celebrate the small victories when the kids get it and keep them encouraged always!  At this age group, you measure success if they want to come to the next practice and the next game.  Keep chanting the mantra.  You'll do just fine coach.
