Youth Softball Drills - Long Ball Throwing Drill



Purpose: Helps develop arm strength and reinforces correct mechanics for making longer throws.
Procedure:

Players partner up and line up about 10 feet apart to warm-up the arms while throwing. Gradually increase distance until they can no longer reach the receiver in the air without one hopping the ball. Emphasize loading up, using legs, crow hop, step in front on crow hop. Good mechanics, high elbow above the shoulder, palm down, snap wrist on follow through.
